Zanzibar!

When I touched down here in early July, I knew that I was going to need to go to Zanzibar at some point. Last week, I took a ferry to Stone Town and took a lot of pictures. I used it as a small vacation from desperately trying to fumble my way through fieldwork. Here's a photo essay from those three days:

Fordhani gardens - every night there are a bunch of street vendors that set up delicious stands for dinner. If you know a bit of Swahili and avoid the scammers, you can eat well for pretty cheap.

Till next time, Stone Town! It's nice to know that whenever I'm in Dar, it's a quick 2 hour ferry ride to a peaceful place like this.
